Recommendation:  That the Common Council approve the request of the Director of Parks, Recreation & Forestry to fill a 1,500 hours per year permanent part time Park Laborer position.

Background:  During the 2007 budget process, the Director of Parks, Recreation & Forestry requested an additional full-time Parks Maintenance Technician position to help perform additional maintenance responsibilities due to additional park facilities development and community growth.

Rather than recommending/approving the full time position, the Personnel Committee recommended and the Common Council approved one additional 1,500 hour permanent part time Park Laborer position.

Fiscal Impact:  The cost of the Park Laborer position would be $20,265.  Funds have been included in the 2007 Parks, Recreation & Forestry budget.
