Recommendation:  To award a contract to Carlson-Dettmann Consulting to complete a comprehensive Classification and Compensation study for the City of Oak Creek for a price not to exceed $20,000.

Background:  On May 02, 2006 the Common Council approved Council Report No. 12 authoring staff to solicit proposals for this work (a copy of the Council Report is attached). 

Three consulting firms submitted proposals for this project.  The firms and their quoted price are:

Carlson-Dettmann Consulting                        Middleton, WI              $18,000 *

MRA                                                                Brookfield, WI              $18,090 *

The PAR Group                                              Lake Bluff, IL               $52,500

All companies are well referenced.  I contact references supplied by Carlson-Dettmann and found…..
