RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION
TO
RONALD G. SCHMIDT
WHEREAS, Ronald G. Schmidt began his employment with the City of Oak Creek on
June 29, 1978, as a full-time Police Officer, and
WHEREAS, Ronald G. Schmidt has been a valuable employee during his years of dedicated service with the Oak Creek Police Department, always striving to enhance the quality of life for citizens of the City, and
WHEREAS, during his twenty-seven years and ten months of service, Ronald was an integral part of the operations of the Oak Creek Police Department. After serving almost twenty years as a patrol officer, Ronald was appointed Acting Detective on April 1, 1998, and was then appointed Detective on June 12, 1998. Ronald was also a member of the Hostage Negotiation Team and a past Department Armorer, and
WHEREAS, during Ronald G. Schmidt’s career with the Oak Creek Police Department, he was assigned to many major crime scenes, and through his thorough investigative techniques, solved many of these cases, and
WHEREAS, Ronald G. Schmidt’s efforts to preserve peace and enforce the laws were acknowledged by his receipt of numerous letters of commendation during his career, including a 2001 Team Recognition Award from the Association of Arson Investigators, Wisconsin Chapter 25, for his part in solving a fatal arson fire, and
WHEREAS, Ronald G. Schmidt is retiring from the Oak Creek Police Department force after completing 27 years and 10 months of full-time service to the City of Oak Creek.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Oak Creek, for and on behalf of the citizens of the City of Oak Creek, that sincere gratitude and appreciation be extended to Ronald G. Schmidt for his years of dedicated and faithful service to the City of Oak Creek and the Police Department, that the best wishes for good health and happiness be extended to Ronald G. Schmidt and his family for future years.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting and that the City Clerk is hereby directed to transmit a suitable copy thereof to Ronald G. Schmidt.
