COUNCIL PROCLAMATION 06-10

 

CONGRATULATIONS TO

SCOTT AND TINA KOENIG

2006 OAK CREEK CITIZENS OF THE YEAR

 

 

WHEREAS, the Oak Creek Citizen of the Year Committee conducts an annual search for the person who, in its judgment, is most deserving of acknowledgment because of loyal, unselfish and patriotic service to the community; and

 

WHEREAS, the Oak Creek Citizen of the Year Committee has selected Scott and Tina Koenig as its 2006 Citizens of the Year, for which they will be duly honored at a recognition dinner on Friday, May 12, 2006; and

 

WHEREAS, because of a strong commitment to volunteerism in and for their community:

 

Scott was instrumental in the initiation of the Oak Creek Crime Stoppers program, where he served as president for three years and remains an active participant;

 

Scott purchases lumber and builds picnic tables which are then given to area groups to raffle, with the money that is raised remaining in the community;

 

Tina became involved in the highly successful National Night Out event, and served as Chairperson;

 

Tina volunteered to help make the City of Oak Creek’s 50th birthday party a success;

 

Scott and Tina Koenig both volunteer wherever there is a need; have rendered countless hours of community service, and have touched the lives of so many; and

 

WHEREAS, this is only the sixth time in the history of the award that it has been given to a couple.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Oak Creek hereby congratulate the “Dynamic Duo”, Scott and Tina Koenig, on being selected the 2006 Oak Creek Citizens of the Year.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this proclamation be spread upon the minutes of this meeting and that the City Clerk be and she is hereby directed to transmit a suitable copy thereof to Scott and Tina Koenig.
