MINUTES, LICENSE COMMITTEE
THURSDAY, MARCH 30, 2006 AT 8:10 A.M.
1. This meeting was called to order at 8:10 a.m. Present were: Ald. Grabowski, Ald. Foeckler, Doug Seymour and Pam Bauer.
2. Jim Reitzner, owner of the 5th Avenue Mobile Home Park, was out of town and was unavailable to attend the committee meeting. This issue was directed held until he is able to attend to discuss his license renewal application for 2006 and the issue of the encroaching trailers.
3. Ald. Grabowski, seconded by Ald. Foeckler, moved to grant an original Class “B” Beer license to Double “D” Adventures III, LLC, David A. Doss, Agent, for Wing Stop Restaurant, 8907 S. Howell Ave., #100, with issuance subject to receipt of an occupancy permit and payment of fees. All voted aye; motion carried.
4. The original application for a Reserve “Class B” Combination license submitted by Trisha A. Halimi, for Lucky’s Pub & Grill, 8201 S. Howell Ave., #700 was withdrawn. No action was required.
5. The committee reviewed the memo from John Ozolins on his inspections of the sites. There has been little or no activity at any of the sites, and the “abandoned” vehicle mentioned in John’s memo has been removed. Ald. Foeckler, seconded by Ald. Grabowski, moved to grant renewal landfill licenses to the following:
a. C. W. Purpero, 813 W. College Ave.
b. Apple Tower Development, 8400, 8380, 8432 and 8352 S. 27th St.
c. Herman and Elizabeth Kopplin, 6931 S. Howell Ave.
All voted aye; motion carried.
d. No action was necessary on the Giuffre landfill site, 9325 S. 13th St. When the original landfill license was issued in November of 2005, Giuffre was asked to submit a request for renewal if the project were to continue into the year 2006. No request was submitted. Pam spoke with Sue Winnen who stated that all fill has been placed, there will be no more fill coming on to the site, and a closure plan has been submitted.
