RESOLUTION OF COMMENDATION

TO

WILLIAM H. SCHAPER

WHEREAS, William H. Schaper began his employment with the City of Oak Creek on September 8, 1970, and worked as a Laborer at a rate of $3.50 per hour; and

WHEREAS, William H. Schaper was promoted to an Equipment Operator on February 19, 1979; and

WHEREAS, William H. Schaper was promoted to Assistant Street Superintendent on October 1, 1982; and

WHEREAS, William H. Schaper was promoted to the position of Street Superintendent on June 18, 1991; and

WHEREAS, William H. Schaper was appointed to the Traffic and Safety Commission in 1985 and held that appointment until 2005; and

WHEREAS, William H. Schaper was appointed to the Environmental Advisory Committee in February of 1991 to work with committee members to review and consider mandated changes relating to recycling and other environmentally-related programs, and served on that committee until February of 1997; and

WHEREAS, William H. Schaper is retiring from his position as Street Superintendent after serving over 35 years with the City of Oak Creek Street Department, effective April 7, 2006.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Oak Creek that for and on behalf of the Citizens of Oak Creek, sincere gratitude and appreciation be extended to William H. Schaper for his 35 years of dedicated service to the City of Oak Creek Street Department and that best wishes for good health and happiness be extended to William H. Schaper and his family in his retirement years.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting and the City Clerk be and is hereby directed to transmit a suitable copy thereof to William H. Schaper.
