RESOLUTION ACKNOWLEDGING AND FILING THE

2006 CALENDAR YEAR SALARY GRADE PLAN AND

BENEFITS FOR LIBRARY PERSONNEL

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to S. 43.58(4), Wisconsin Statutes, the Library Board is authorized and empowered to set and fix the compensation to be paid to the personnel of the Public Library; and

 

WHEREAS, those affected full-time employees pursuant to this section shall receive the fringe benefits set forth in the current agreement between Local 133 and the City of Oak Creek; and

 

WHEREAS, the Library Board, in addressing retiree benefits for full-time employees who are eligible for retirement, has authorized those eligible full-time employees to receive the same retirement benefits as Local 133, and

 

WHEREAS, a health insurance premium co-payment of 5% of the health insurance premium each month starting January 1, 2003, will be paid by full-time Library employees; and

 

WHEREAS, the Library Board has also transmitted to the Common Council a salary grade plan for Library personnel effective January 1, 2006, which provides as follows:

Ø      The Assistant City Librarian will receive a step increase to 21.97 on June

Ø      The Children's/Young Adult Librarian will receive a step increase to $20.15 on July 2, 2006.

 

Reference Librarian                              19.41 – 20.90                18.80                19.41*

 

Ø      The Reference Librarian will receive a step increase to $19.77 on January 5, 2006.

 

Library Services Assistant                     16.88 – 19.28                17.50                18.07*

 

Ø      The Library Services Assistant will receive a step increase to $18.68 on July 12, 2006.

 


Library Aides                                        10.60 – 11.97

 

Library Pages                                       6.76 – 8.08

 

WHEREAS, all full-time employees of the Library shall be entitled to, and the City will pay, longevity in accordance with the following formula:

 

                        (a)        After 5 years of service             $ 5.00/monthly

                        (b)        After 10 years of service           $10.00/monthly

                        (c)        After 15 years of service           $15.00/monthly

                        (d)        After 20 years of service           $20.00/monthly

 

WHEREAS, the Library personnel shall be paid for auto expense at the rate allowed under current IRS regulation per the Travel Policy.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Oak Creek that the Salary Grade Plan as hereinabove set forth be and the same is hereby acknowledged and filed.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be and she is hereby authorized and directed to publish this resolution in the official newspaper as a Class 1 publication for public informational purposes.
