Recommendation:  That the Common Council adopt Resolution No. 10594-041806, a Resolution Authorizing the City Clerk to Appoint Special Registration Deputies.

Background:  The State of Wisconsin is converting to a statewide Voter Registration system and has created numerous standardized procedures to be followed by all communities.  Included with that system is a request that communities provide a resolution to standardize the terms of appointment of special registration deputies.

Oak Creek has utilized special deputies on some occasions under our own very strict guidelines, so this resolution will not cause any change in the way we currently handle placement of special voter registration deputies.
