Recommendation:  To discuss Council position on Assembly Bill 1089 – Creating a local airport district.

Background:  Assembly Bill 1089 has been introduced by Representative Stone et al. that would, if enacted to law, create a local airport district and authorize the creation of local airport districts under specific circumstances. 

This Bill has clear implications to the city of Oak Creek and deserves our diligent attention as it proceeds through the Assembly.  The issue is on the agenda without a recommendation to provide the Council with an opportunity to discuss the pending Bill and possible ramifications. 

The complete Bill consists of 47 pages and can be accessed through the State Web site at www.legis.state.wi.us.  A complete copy can be obtained through the clerk’s office or the administrator’s office.  The first five pages of AB 1089 are attached for your review and provide the substantive portion of the Bill.

Fiscal Impact:  No fiscal impact.
