Recommendation:  That the Common Council approves the Maintenance Department purchase of one (1) replacement vehicle as outlined below:

 

            1          2006 Chevrolet Express Cargo Van (2500)

 

Background:  During the 2005 budget process, the Maintenance Department provided justification and requested the authorization to replace the high mileage Maintenance cargo van. Currently the 1990 van has 182,000 miles and is in need of replacement. The van is requiring a much higher volume of maintenance due to its age and mileage. The 1990 van will be sent to auction.

 

The cost for the 2006 cargo van replacement vehicle is based on the state bid, which was awarded to Ewald Automotive.

 

Fiscal Impact:  The total cost of the vehicle is $15,656.00 which is below the

$20,000.00 allocated in the Maintenance Department’s 2005 C.E P. #05034.
