Recommendation: That the Common Council award the 2006 street tree purchase bid (Project No. 06002) to the following nurseries: Silver Creek Nursery ($4,189.50) and Johnson’s Nursery ($32,500) for a total of $36,689.50.
Background: The 2006 street tree purchase, of 308 trees – both new and replacement – was advertised and 6 (six) bids were received. No one nursery has all tree stock requested. However, between the local nurseries, all stock is attainable.
Bid award recommendation is based on: ability to meet specifications, bid price, past experience with stock, convenience of delivery and, in-field inspections prior to bid award. Bid Proposal Worksheets attached.
