RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE SOUTH 27^TH STREET

URBAN VILLAGE IMPLEMENTATION PLAN AND IMPACT ANALYSIS

(2^nd and 6^th Aldermanic Districts)

WHEREAS, On February 14, 2005 the Common Council authorized the release of a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for development advisory services for implementation of the recommendations of the 27th Street Corridor and SubArea Plans; and

WHEREAS, On August 16, 2005 the Common Council concurred with the Community Development Authority (CDA) and selected the firm of HNTB to provide development advisory services to the City for South 27th Street; and

WHEREAS, based on the Council’s direction and that of the 27^th Street Steering Committee, HNTB prepared the South 27^th Street Urban Village Implementation Plan and Impact Analysis, and

WHEREAS, On December 14, 2005 the Community Development Authority recommended approval of the plan; and

WHEREAS, On, February 14, 2005 the Oak Creek Plan Commission forwarded the plan to the Common Council without recommendation; and

WHEREAS, The Mayor and Common Council concur with the Community Development Authority that adoption of the South 27^th Street Urban Village Implementation Plan will ensure that development occurs in a consistent and coordinated manner; promote a diverse economic base to provide jobs, goods and services to residents; provide a healthy and diverse property tax base, and; effectively respond to new opportunities created by recent development along the corridor.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council that the South 27^th Street Urban Village Implementation Plan and Impact Analysisis approved.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Common Council of the City of Oak Creek held this 21^st day of March, 2006.

Passed and adopted this 21st day of March, 2006.
