CONGRATULATIONS TO

BLACK BEAR BOTTLING GROUP, LLC

SOUTHEASTERN CHAMBER UNITED IN BUSINESS (SECUB)

2005 BUSINESS OF THE YEAR

WHEREAS, the Southeastern Chamber United in Business (SECUB) conducts an annual search for the business most deserving of recognition because of their contributions to this community, its organizations, and its youth; and

WHEREAS, SECUB will be hosting a banquet on Friday, January 20, 2006, to honor the “2005 Business of the Year”; and

WHEREAS, Black Bear Bottling Group, LLC has been chosen by SECUB to receive the “2005 Business of the Year” award; and

WHEREAS, Black Bear Bottling Group, LLC began its operation over 40 years ago in the City of St. Francis and brought their operation as a bottler of soft drink products, a beverage distributor,  and contract packer of non-alcoholic beverages to the City of Oak Creek more than five years ago; and

WHEREAS, Black Bear Bottling Group, LLC continues to manage competitive versus profitable pricing in a market where the majority of the soft drink industry is driven by mega-companies which Black Bear Bottling Group, LLC is forced to compete against; and

WHEREAS, Black Bear Bottling Group, LLC has continued to manage unpredicted raw material costs, along with rising fuel, utility, insurance and overall business operating costs; and

WHEREAS, Black Bear Bottling Group, LLC bottled and shipped more than 9,000 cases of Claire Baie purified drinking water to New Orleans and other devastated regions of the Gulf Coast during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina; and

WHEREAS, Black Bear Bottling Group, LLC has made contributions to various community organizations such as the City of Oak Creek Celebrations Commission, the March of Dimes Fundraiser, United Way, WE Energies, Oak Creek Community Center Auction and Silent Auction, 440^th Airlift Wing annual dinner dance, 128^th Air Refueling-Armed Forces Week, Oak Creek Lions and Lions Fest, the Oak Creek Little League, and a variety of Oak Creek Middle and High School athletic and cultural clubs, to name but a few.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Oak Creek hereby congratulate Black Bear Bottling Group, LLC for being selected the “2005 Business of the Year”.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this proclamation be spread upon the minutes of this meeting and that the City Clerk be and she is hereby directed to transmit a suitable copy thereof to Black Bear Bottling Group, LLC.
