Recommendation:  To begin discussion on whether to change the positions of City Clerk/Comptroller and City Treasurer from elected to appointed positions.

 

Background:  The positions of Clerk and Treasurer are currently elected for two-year terms.  The work for both positions demands full-time attention by an individual with solid work ethic, a high degree of integrity, positive personality, and a team player. 

 

The growth Oak Creek has experienced in recent years has taken the positions to a level of professionalism that demands appointment based on knowledge, skills, ability and experience rather than a successful political campaign.  

 

Fiscal Impact:  There is no fiscal impact to this discussion.
