Recommendation:  To select a date to hear a presentation regarding the proposed Kenosha-Racine-Milwaukee (KRM) commuter rail line.

Background:  The consulting engineering firm of HNTB, in conjunction with SEWRPC is studying the feasibility of extending the METRA commuter rail line from Kenosha to Milwaukee.  The line would utilize the existing railroad tracks east of STH 32 through Oak Creek.  The plan also tentatively identifies Oak Creek for a future rail station in the vicinity of Ryan Road. 

Due to the complexity of this issue and the importance to the City’s Lakefront development potential, staff would like to schedule a separate meeting for the presentation and subsequent question. 

Fiscal Impact:  No impact.
