Recommendation: That the Common Council adopt Resolution No. 10718-121906, a Resolution of Appreciation to RICHARD R. BEHLING, retiring Senior Utility Service Worker.
Background: RICHARD R. BEHLING served the City of Oak Creek Water and Sewer Utility for 16 years and 7 months, and his career dictates that he be honored with this Resolution of Appreciation.

RESOLUTION NO. 10718-121906
RESOLUTION OF APRECIATION
TO
RICHARD R. BEHLING
WHEREAS, RICHARD R. BEHLING began his employment with the City of Oak Creek on May 29, 1990, as a full-time Utility Service Worker; and,
WHEREAS, RICHARD R. BEHLING responded to water main breaks in the early morning, late evening, and weekend hours and in inclement weather and read meters on foot, flushed fire hydrants, climbed and inspected water towers, and spent countless hours maintaining lift stations; and,
WHEREAS, RICHARD R. BEHLING was promoted to Senior Utility Service Worker on January 14, 1996; and,
WHEREAS, RICHARD R. BEHLING supervised the cathodic protection test sites throughout the City of Oak Creek; and,
WHEREAS, RICHARD R. BEHLING is a registered Cross Connection Tester; and,
WHEREAS, RICHARD R. BEHLING was an integral part of the conversion of 6,000 manual read meters to radio read meters; and,
WHEREAS, RICHARD R. BEHLING received The Certificate in Supervisory Management from UW-Milwaukee Outreach program; and,
WHEREAS, RICHARD R. BEHLING received numerous written accolades from the public commending him on his efficiency and professionalism; and,
WHEREAS, RICHARD R. BEHLING has been a valuable employee during his years of dedicated service by virtue of his self-sacrifice and many tireless hours responding to the calls of its citizens; and,
WHEREAS, RICHARD R. BEHLING has retired from his position of Senior Utility Service Worker with the Oak Creek Water and Sewer Utility, effective January 3, 2007, after completing 16 years and 7 months of full-time service.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Oak Creek, for and on behalf of the citizens of the City of Oak Creek, that sincere gratitude and appreciation be extended to RICHARD R. BEHLING for his years of dedicated and faithful service to the City of Oak Creek and the Water and Sewer Utility, and that best wishes for good health and happiness be extended to RICHARD R. BEHLING and his family for future years.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting and that the City Clerk is hereby directed to transmit a suitable copy thereof to RICHARD R. BEHLING.
