Recommendation: That the Common Council adopt Resolution No.10716-121906, a Resolution of Appreciation to THOMAS R. BUSSE, retiring Water Treatment Plant Operator.
Background: THOMAS R. BUSSE served the City of Oak Creek Water and Sewer Utility for 30 years and 5 months, and his career dictates that he be honored with this Resolution of Appreciation.

RESOLUTION NO. 10716-121906
RESOLUTION OF APRECIATION
TO
THOMAS R. BUSSE
WHEREAS, THOMAS R. BUSSE began his employment with the City of Oak Creek on July 19, 1976, as a full-time Utility Service Worker; and
WHEREAS, THOMAS R. BUSSE responded to water main breaks in the early morning, late evening, and weekend hours and in inclement weather; and,
WHEREAS, THOMAS R. BUSSE read meters on foot, flushed fire hydrants, climbed and inspected water towers, and spent countless hours maintaining lift stations; and,
WHEREAS, THOMAS R. BUSSE transferred from the Distribution Department to the position of Water Treatment Plant Operator on June 25, 1979; and,
WHEREAS, THOMAS R. BUSSE was an integral part of the on-going training program in place at the treatment plant by the sharing of his knowledge; and,
WHEREAS, THOMAS R. BUSSE was instrumental in the Oak Creek Water Treatment Plant being recognized as the first plant in the State of Wisconsin to achieve the American Water Work Association Partnership for Safe Water Phase III award and maintaining that status for 9 continuous years; and,
WHEREAS, THOMAS R. BUSSE has been a valuable employee during his years of dedicated service in both the distribution field and then at the treatment plant for the Oak Creek Water and Sewer Utility by virtue of his self-sacrifice and many tireless hours responding to the calls of its citizens and providing potable water to 60,000 customers; and,
WHEREAS, THOMAS R. BUSSE has retired from his position of Water Treatment Plant Operator with the Oak Creek Water and Sewer Utility, effective December 26, 2006, after completing 30 years and 5 months of full-time service.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Oak Creek, for and on behalf of the citizens of the City of Oak Creek, that sincere gratitude and appreciation be extended to THOMAS R. BUSSE for his years of dedicated and faithful service to the City of Oak Creek and the Water and Sewer Utility, and that best wishes for good health and happiness be extended to THOMAS R. BUSSE and his family for future years.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting and that the City Clerk is hereby directed to transmit a suitable copy thereof to THOMAS R. BUSSE.
