Recommendation:  That the Common Council approves the attached Resolution No. 10702-121906 authorizing the Street Superintendent to file for recycling grants with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.

Background:  This resolution replaces the previous one which was passed in September of 1996.  William Schaper was authorized at that time to file for recycling grants.  William Schaper has now retired.

The Department of Natural Resources encourages naming the position instead of the person as the authorized representative as this eliminates the need for frequent changes in the Resolution.

Fiscal Impact:  A resolution authorizing City personnel to file for recycling grants and to receive recycling grant funds is required by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
