COUNCIL PROCLAMATION 06-15

 

PROCLAMATION OF CONGRATULATIONS

TO MICHAEL JOHN WAWRZYNIAK

FOR RECEIVING THE EAGLE SCOUT AWARD

 

WHEREAS, the conferring of an Eagle Scout is one of the highest awards that can be bestowed upon a Boy Scout; and

 

WHEREAS, such award is an earned award in that the recipient must perform and successfully complete and pass the rigid requirements exacted to achieve an Eagle Scout Award; and

 

WHEREAS, only about five percent of all scouts actually achieve this goal; and

 

WHEREAS, at a Court of Honor to be held at the Wauwatosa Savings Bank on November 25, 2006, an Eagle Scout Award will be conferred upon Michael John Wawrzyniak; and

 

WHEREAS, as his Eagle Service Project, Michael John Wawrzyniak made Aldo Leopold benches for the Oak Leaf Trail by cutting, staining and assembling these benches with the help of fellow scouts and leaders; and

 

WHEREAS these simple, yet comfortable benches, designed by and named after Aldo Leopold, a renowned conservationist, forester, educator and writer, will benefit people of all ages who use the trail for hiking and biking; and

WHEREAS, the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Oak Creek wish to recognize this noteworthy achievement of Michael John Wawrzyniak.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Oak Creek hereby extend their congratulations to Michael John Wawrzyniak for having an Eagle Scout Award conferred upon him by the Boy Scouts of America.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this proclamation be spread upon the minutes of this meeting and the City Clerk be and she is hereby directed to transmit a suitable copy thereof to Michael John Wawrzyniak.
