Recommendation:  That the Common Council adopt Ordinance No. 2387, temporarily adjusting the position title and salary for the Acting Fire Chief, effective 1/1/06.

Background:  Fire Chief Gerard Hammernik retired effective 12/31/05.  On 11/17/05, the Police and Fire Commission met and appointed Assistant Fire Chief George Krudop to serve in the capacity of Acting Fire Chief, effective 1/1/06.  The Personnel Committee met on 12/27/05 and recommended approval of a temporary adjustment to the salary and car allowance for the Acting Fire Chief position.

Fiscal Impact:  Funds have been budgeted in 2006 for this adjustment.
