SCHOOL NIGHT TO
JOIN SCOUTING
WHEREAS, the success of Scouting for Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Venturing Crews depends on our community organizations; and
WHEREAS, there are nearly 300 churches and synagogues, schools, parent-teacher associations, service and fraternal clubs and other community organizations that have been chartered in our area by the Boy Scouts of America to use the Scouting program; and
WHEREAS, the 4,500 volunteer leaders selected by these chartered organizations are performing an outstanding service for 21,434 youth; and
WHEREAS, the Milwaukee County Council of the Boy Scouts of America and its corps of dedicated volunteer leaders are providing necessary support to the leaders in the 402 Cub Scout Packs, Boy Scout Troops and Venturing Crews.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Oak Creek hereby extends an invitation to join Scouting to all families on Thursday, September 15, 2005.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that September 15, 2005, is hereby proclaimed as School Night to Join Scouting for the community, so that our citizens will benefit from the character building, citizenship training, and personal fitness programs offered by the Boy Scouts of America.
