City of Oak Creek
Common Council Report
Meeting Date: July 19, 2005
Item No.: 22
Recommendation: That the Common Council concur with the recommendation of the Department of Parks, Recreation & Forestry and approve two bid proposals from Gerber Leisure Products for the purchase and installation of play structures, equipment, swing structures, benches and resilient surfacing for South Hills and Camelot Neighborhood Parks at $84,000 ($42,000 each).
Background: On July 7, 2005, ten (10) bid proposals were opened in the office of the City Clerk. A maximum price limitation for play structures, equipment, swing structures, benches, borders and wood fiber surfacing, delivered and installed, was set at $42,000 for each proposal.
Bids were evaluated on play value, quality of equipment and design. Gerber Leisure Products is the qualified bidder—meeting all of the specifications that provided the best combination of quality of materials, safety, accessibility, design and number of play components, while staying within the stated price limitations
