TO

PETER J. RATZ

WHEREAS, PETER J. RATZ has retired from his position as a Fire Fighter Paramedic effective July 6, 2005, after 31 years and 5 months of dedicated full-time service to the City of Oak Creek Fire Department; and

WHEREAS, PETER J. RATZ was appointed as a Fire Fighter on February 4, 1974; and

WHEREAS, PETER J. RATZ has been one of the senior Emergency Medical Technicians in the State of Wisconsin, and during his career has cared for thousands of citizens who were sick or injured, always delivering caring and skilled emergency care to them; and

WHEREAS, PETER J. RATZ was a member of the City’s first class of paramedics and became a Fire Fighter Paramedic on March 6, 2000; and

WHEREAS, during his years of service, PETER J. RATZ has performed his duties admirably, always looking out for the health, safety, and welfare of the residents of Oak Creek; and

WHEREAS, PETER J. RATZ responded to major alarms at the Peter Cooper Corporation, the Crash of Flight 105, and others too numerous to mention, using his skills in fire fighting and rescue admirably, without hesitation; and

WHEREAS, PETER J. RATZ frequently conducted tours and participated in fire prevention activities for the children of Oak Creek during his career; and

WHEREAS, PETER J. RATZ was the lead person in the department’s Self Contained Breathing Apparatus program, and exercised great care and diligence in maintaining this vital life safety equipment to ensure the safety of the City’s Fire Fighters.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Oak Creek for and on behalf of the citizens of the City of Oak Creek, that sincere gratitude and appreciation be extended to Peter J. Ratz for his many years of dedicated and faithful service to the City of Oak Creek and the Fire Department, that the best wishes for good health and happiness be extended to Peter J. Ratz and his family on his retirement.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting and that the City Clerk is hereby directed to transmit a suitable copy thereof to Peter J. Ratz.
