IN MEMORY OF MR. EUGENE (GENE) GOSLINE,
AND IN RECOGNITION OF HIS DEDICATION AND SELFLESS EFFORTS
IN THE ESTABLISHMENT OF
THE OAK CREEK VETERANS’ MEMORIAL PARK
WHEREAS, the City of Oak Creek has, sadly, been informed that Mr. Eugene (Gene) Gosline passed away on April 26, 2005; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Eugene (Gene) Gosline always insisted on being called just “Gene”; and
WHEREAS, Gene was an inspirational and driving force in the development and completion of a memorial park in the City of Oak Creek to honor the nation’s veterans; and,
WHEREAS, the City wishes to recognize Gene’s dedication and his selfless efforts that resulted in the establishment of the Oak Creek Veterans’ Memorial Park at South 6th Street and West Rawson Avenue; and,
WHEREAS, as a memorial to Gene, the City will place a recognition stone at the site of the Oak Creek Veterans’ Memorial Park, and will there plant a tree in his honor, in acknowledgment of his valuable contributions;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Oak Creek do hereby express their condolences to the family of Eugene (Gene) Gosline; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and Common Council, on behalf of the City and on behalf of all veterans, express their appreciation for his dedication and efforts in establishing the Oak Creek Veterans’ Memorial Park.
