Common Council Report
Meeting Date: April 4, 2005
Item No.: 7
Recommendation: That the Council approve the recommendation to appoint Rebecca Lane to the full time City Forester position and adopt Ordinance 2341, establishing a 2005 salary for the position of City Forester.
Background: During the 2005 budget process, the Common Council approved upgrading the permanent part time City Forester position to a full time position. This process has been completed. At their March 15, 2005 meeting, the Personnel Committee reviewed the hiring process and recommended that Rebecca Lane be appointed to the full time City Forester position effective April 5, 2005, with a starting salary at $45,500. The Commission concurs with this ordinance.
Fiscal Impact: The 2005 budget includes sufficient funds to cover this position.
