Recommendation:  That the Council approve the appointment of Danielle L. Baranek to the position of Emergency Services Dispatch Supervisor and adopt Ordinance No. 2347, relating to the 2005 salary for this newly-created position within the Police Department.

Background:  During the 2005 budget process, the Common Council approved the creation of an Emergency Services Dispatch Supervisor position within the Police Department. In addition, Ordinance 2333 established a salary range and salary of $51,605 for the position. The Common Council, at their January 18, 2005, meeting approved the filling of the newly-created Emergency Services Dispatch Supervisor position. A promotional process was conducted, with candidate Danielle L. Baranek chosen to fill the position, effective April 25, 2005. The purpose of this report is to establish a “current wage” for the position, which was not included in the City’s original salary ordinance.

Fiscal Impact:  The wages and benefits for this position are included in the Police Department’s 2005 budget for full-time salaries.

ORDINANCE NO. 2347

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2 OF ORDINANCE 2333 RELATING

TO THE POSITION OF EMERGENCY SERVICES DISPATCH SUPERVISOR

            The Common Council of the City of Oak Creek does herby ordain as follows:

SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 2333, Section 2, is hereby amended to establish a current salary for the position of ES Dispatch Supervisor as follows:

Position Title	Salary as of April 25, 2005	Starting Salary	Top Salary
ES Dispatch Supervisor (hired 4/25/05)	$51,605	$44,149	$57,640

SECTION 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are herby repealed.

SECTION 3: This ordinance shall take effect and be in force upon its passage and publication, and shall be effective April 25, 2005.
