Recommendation:  That the Common Council approves the quote from Tractor Loader Sales to have mower equipment installed on the Street Department’s existing tractor in the amount of $26,410.00.

Background:  The Street Department has a Massey-Ferguson Tractor with a boom mower mounted on it.  In the past several years, this tractor has not been used enough to warrant keeping the boom mower attachment.  At this time, the mower equipment would be installed and used everyday cutting right-of-ways and ditches.

We would remove the oldest tractor from a route and use it on other landscaping projects.  The boom mower equipment would be kept for parts on our front line boom mower.

I have spoken with Mayor Bolender and he supports this purchase.

Fiscal Impact:  The 2004 Capital Equipment budget provided funds in the amount of $55,000.00 for the replacement of an unspecified mower.
