CONGRATULATIONS TO

BOOTH MANOR – OAK CREEK RESIDENT

CHARLESSA WIGGINS ON HER 107^TH BIRTHDAY

WHEREAS, CHARLESSA BRISTOL STARK was born February 9, 1898, in Duluth, Minnesota, and named after her father Charles; and

WHEREAS, CHARLESSA BRISTOL STARK and her family moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1912 and on July 14, 1928 CHARLESSA was married to JOHN WIGGINS; and

WHEREAS, CHARLESSA WIGGINS is the proud mother of two sons, David and Peter, and is not only a grandmother, but a great-grandmother and a great-great-grandmother; and

WHEREAS, CHARLESSA WIGGINS, a very independent woman, in her younger years was active in the Feminist Movement, belonged to study groups studying world events, was active in volunteer work, loved reading and doing needlepoint, and belonged to bridge clubs; and

WHEREAS, CHARLESSA WIGGINS, in 1974 moved to Booth Manor in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where she was the first tenant of that apartment building and chose a third floor apartment overlooking the park because she loved to see the grass, trees and flowers; and

WHEREAS, CHARLESSA WIGGINS lived at Booth Manor-Minneapolis for 30 years until August 2004 when she moved to Booth Manor-Oak Creek to be near her family, and is now anxiously waiting for a larger apartment where she would have more room for her things; and

WHEREAS, CHARLESSA WIGGINS’ secrets to a long life are her faith – CHARLESSA is a very active Episcopalian; dressing up each and every day; doing crossword puzzles every day, and not eating foods with preservatives.  CHARLESSA also loves berries – blueberries, raspberries and strawberries; her favorite pie is “Fresh Apple Pie” from Heinemann’s Restaurant; her favorite flower is the rose; and

WHEREAS, CHARLESSA WIGGINS will be 107 years “young” on Wednesday, February 9, 2005 and will celebrate her special day with a birthday party in her honor at 2:00 p.m. at Booth Manor-Oak Creek.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Oak Creek do hereby wish CHARLESSA WIGGINS a Happy 107^th Birthday, and best wishes for health, happiness, and many more.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be and she is hereby directed to transmit a suitable copy of this proclamation to CHARLESSA WIGGINS.
