City of Oak Creek
Common Council Report
Meeting Date: December 6, 2005
Item No.:
Recommendation: To concur with the recommendation of the Traffic and Safety Commission and approve the installation of stop signs on S. Shepard Avenue at the intersection of W. Bridlewood Lane for a 1-year study. This would make the intersection a 4-way stop.
Background: The request was discussed at the Traffic and Safety Commission meeting on November 9, 2005. The intersection does not meet the warrants for a multi-way stop as set by the Manual for Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). The Commission feels that the school bus stop at this intersection justifies the four way stop.

Fiscal Impact: If approved, there are sufficient funds available in the Street Department operating budget to accommodate this installation.
