Recommendation:  That the Common Council reaffirm the decision to hire three permanent full-time patrol officers utilizing funds from WE-Energies Mitigation funds.

 

 

Background: This request is based on the impact of the WE Energies project.  In 2004, City Administrator Robert Kufrin had requested that city departments prepare an impact statement. The original document that Mr. Kufrin had submitted (see attached) had included costs associated with indirect employees costs as well as three additional police officers. 

 

 

Fiscal Impact:  The total salary/benefit cost for three police officers, at $69,236 each, is $207,708.

 

The funds needed have been budgeted in the 2006 budget under Fund #19 WE Energies-Mitigation Funds.
