City of Oak Creek
Common Council Report
Meeting Date: December 20, 2005
Item No.:
Recommendation: That the Council authorizes staff to release a request for proposals for the redevelopment of the property at 8640 S. Howell Avenue.
Background: At previous meetings of the CDA, it was noted that there has been significant developer interest in the site upon which City Hall, the Library, Fire Station No. 1 and the Oak Creek Community Center occupy.
As such, staff had been directed to prepare a request for proposals to be sent out to the development community for the possible redevelopment of the City Hall property, and the relocation of those municipal functions (except for the Community Center, for which there is a long term lease) to other sites.
A draft of that RFP has been attached as part of this agenda item. The CDA has reviewed the RFP, and has recommended that it be presented to the Council for the purposes of releasing it to the development community. It is envisioned that an ad hoc committee would be appointed to review the responses to the RFP.
Fiscal Impact: There are no direct costs associated with the release of the RFP
