COUNCIL PROCLAMATION NO. 05-21
AMVETS AND AMVETS AUXILIARY
“LOVE AMERICA WEEK”
WHEREAS, “Love America Week”, sponsored by AMVETS and AMVETS Auxiliary, is held every November during the week of Veterans Day; and
WHEREAS, November 6 through November 12 has been established as “Love America Week” for 2005; and
WHEREAS, “Love America Week” is a week for all residents to remember the brave men and women who have defended our country, and that our freedom must never be taken for granted; and
WHEREAS, AMVETS and AMVETS Auxiliary encourage a deeper interest and love for our country by promoting patriotism, proudly flying the United States flag, thanking a veteran, visiting the Oak Creek Veterans’ Memorial Park at 6th and Rawson Ave., or the grave of a veteran.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Oak Creek do hereby proclaim November 6 through November 12, 2005 as “Love America Week”.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this proclamation be spread upon the minutes of this meeting and that the City Clerk be and she is hereby directed to transmit a suitable copy thereof to AMVETS and AMVETS Auxiliary.
