COUNCIL PROCLAMATION NO. 05-20

                                                 PROCLAMATION OF CONGRATULATIONS

                                                          TO MATTHEW D. MACHAJEWSKI

                                              FOR RECEIVING THE EAGLE SCOUT AWARD

WHEREAS, the conferring of an Eagle Scout is one of the highest awards that can be bestowed upon a Boy Scout; and

WHEREAS, such award is an earned award in that the recipient must perform and successfully complete and pass the rigid requirements exacted to achieve an Eagle Scout Award; and

WHEREAS, less than two percent of all Scouts actually achieve this goal; and

WHEREAS, at a Court of Honor to be held at the Oelschlaeger-Dallmann American Legion Post 434 on Sunday, November 27, 2005, an Eagle Scout Award will be conferred upon Matthew D. Machajewski; and

WHEREAS, Matthew began scouting as a Tiger Cub in 1993, moving up in the ranks to Eagle Scout in 2005, having served as Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Senior Patrol Leader, and Troop Guide; and also backpacked at the Philmont Ranch in New Mexico during the International Boy Scout Camp; and

WHEREAS, Matthew, who has a passion for conservation, built eight large Purple Martin houses for the MMSD South Shore Waste Water Treatment Plant in Oak Creek as his Eagle project; and

WHEREAS, the Oak Creek Common Council wishes to recognize this noteworthy achievement of Matthew D. Machajewski.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Oak Creek hereby extend their congratulations to Eagle Scout Matthew D. Machajewski for having an Eagle Scout Award conferred upon him by the Boy Scouts of America.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this proclamation be spread upon the minutes of this meeting and the City Clerk be and she is hereby directed to transmit a suitable copy thereof to Matthew D. Machajewski.
