Recommendation: That the Common Council approve the bid proposal from Reese Recreation for the purchase and delivery of three steel hexagon shelters in the amount of $27,100 (Project Nos. 03025 & 05001) (3rd, 4th, & 6th Aldermanic Districts).
Background: The project entails construction of three all steel hexagon shelters, one each at Otjen Park, South Hills Park, and at Riverton Meadows Park. The shelters are 28 ft. (point-to-point) constructed over a concrete slab. Highway and parks personnel will perform the excavation, concrete installation, assembly and restoration.
The open-air shelters are proposed for installation based on the adopted Park Impact Fee Report and park site plans that lists specific facilities recommended for development in neighborhood parks.
Reese Recreation was the lowest, responsive bidder meeting all of the specifications. The following five bids were received:
