RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PARTICIPATION OF
THE CITY OF OAK CREEK IN A MILWAUKEE AREA
PUBLIC SAFETY CONSORTIUM
WHEREAS, Section 66.0301 of the Wisconsin Statutes authorizes municipalities to cooperate with other municipalities to make the most efficient use of their powers on a basis of mutual cooperation; and,
WHEREAS, municipalities are geographically vulnerable to a variety of human, natural and technological disasters; and
WHEREAS, the City of Oak Creek and all parties to this Agreement recognize the importance of coordination between local governments to promote information sharing; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Oak Creek and all parties to this Agreement recognize the importance of coordination between local governments to promote cost savings; and,
WHEREAS, by entering into a Milwaukee Area Public Safety Consortium with other local governments in the greater Metropolitan Milwaukee Area, the City of Oak Creek and other signatory parties to the Agreement will have a reasonable expectation of reducing the vulnerability of people and property to crime, damage, injury and loss of life through a coordinated effort.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Oak Creek that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to enter into a Milwaukee Area Public Safety Consortium, the terms and conditions of which are attached hereto.
