Recommendation:  That the Common Council approve the request of the Library Board and the recommendation of the Personnel Committee to fill a vacant Library Public Services Aide II position.

Background:  Effective August 24^th there will be a vacancy for a Library Public Services Aide II. This is a permanent part time position of approximately 25 hours per week/ 1,300 hours per year. This employee will staff the circulation desk, check materials in and out, register new patrons, collect money for overdue items, etc.

Fiscal Impact:  The new employee will begin at the first step of a five-step pay scale at $9.97 per hour. Funds are available in the current library budget.
