COUNCIL PROCLAMATION NO. 04-19

 

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE

OAK CREEK KNIGHTS BASEBALL TEAM 2004

 

 

WHEREAS, the Oak Creek Knights Baseball Team became the 2004 State Champions by winning the WIAA State Tournament held in Stevens Point, Wisconsin; and

 

WHEREAS, the Oak Creek Knights Baseball Team became the first repeat winner in the 40-year history of the WIAA State Tournament by winning back-to-back titles in both 2003 and 2004; and

 

WHEREAS, the Oak Creek Knights Baseball Team, during the two-day tournament, beat their three state opponents with a combined score of 18-3, committed no errors, and had a .372 hitting average as a team, all very impressive statistics; and

 

WHEREAS, the Oak Creek Knights Baseball Team, coached by Peter Dooley, won the honor as Coach of the Year in the Milwaukee area for guiding the team to consecutive championships.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Oak Creek, for and on behalf of its citizens, do hereby wish to extend their congratulations to the Oak Creek Knights Baseball Team for winning the State Baseball Championship.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be and she is hereby directed to provide a suitable copy of this proclamation to the Oak Creek Knights Baseball Team.
