RecommendationThat the Common Council waive all permit fees for construction of the City of Oak Creek Veterans’ Memorial.

 

Background:  Fund raising and planning for the City of Oak Creek Veterans’ Memorial are progressing well.  Construction is expected to begin in the first half of July, with the dedication ceremony scheduled for Saturday, November 13, 2004.

 

The Committee is only aware of minimal permit requirements remaining.  The Inspection Department has advised us that the only permit they will require is electrical.  Since the memorial will truly belong to the people of Oak Creek as their symbol of the respect and honor we have for those who have served our county, we believe it would be fitting for the City to waive any fees for this project.

 

 

Fiscal ImpactWaiving these permit fees will not have any significant effect on the operations of the Inspection Department.
