RECOMMENDATION: That the Common Council approve the request of the Library Board and recommendation of the Personnel Committee to fill a vacant part time Library Aide position.

BACKGROUND: The Library currently has a vacancy in the position of Library Aide, Public Services II.  Duties of this position include staffing the circulation desk, checking materials in and out, registering new library patrons, collecting fines and fees, etc. This is a permanent part time position not exceeding 25 hours per week or 1,300 hours per year.

FISCAL IMPACT: Beginning salary for this position is $9.98 per hour. Funds are currently available in the 2004 library budget.
