2.         Grant an Operator’s license to:

Hold the application submitted by Wesley Jason Jock, 3270 S. 25^th St., Milwaukee (Bender Park Pub) for an opinion by the City Attorney relating to his police record check. 

3.         Grant a Special Class B Beer license

            South Milwaukee Amateur Radio Club, one day only, 7/10/04, at Post 434, 9327 S. Shepard Ave.

4.         Take the following action on liquor license renewals for 2004-05 (specific action is listed after each business).  The following issues (other than routine internal processing such as Treasurer record review, etc.) exist at the time this report was prepared:

Smiles of Oak Creek Food Mart – has outstanding liquor bills; a license cannot be issued until the Clerk’s Office receives a release from the liquor wholesaler.  If the bill is not paid prior to 6/30/04, the licensee and Police Department are notified that the license is being held and the business is not authorized to sell alcoholic beverages until a release is received and the license issued.

Last Stop Pub – owes delinquent sales tax to the Wisconsin Department of Revenue (DOR).  As above, if the sales tax is not paid prior to 6/30/04, the licensee and Police Department are notified that the license is being held and the business is not authorized to sell alcoholic beverages until a release is received and the license issued.

Judy’s Family Restaurant – has outstanding liquor bills.

Sunset Family Restaurant  owes delinquent sales tax to the Wisconsin DOR.

Saraphino’s – this matter is in litigation and action should be held.

future Tony Roma’s –  yearly contact has been maintained with Rebecca Cababa since December of 1999 relating to this proposed business on 27^th St.  Originally, the restaurant was to be built in approximately 2000, but the City required sewer and water to be installed in front of the property before construction would be permitted.  After the installation of sewer and water, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation was in the process of reviewing the plat under Trans 233.  By way of a letter from the DOT to National Survey & Engineering regarding Tony Roma’s dated 4/28/04, this matter was still determined to be active with the DOT.  Cababa hopes to begin construction some time late this year or early next year, but wants an assurance that the Council will approve a liquor license prior to the start of any construction.
