City of Oak Creek
Common Council Report
Item No.: 17
Recommendation: That the Common Council consider a motion to approve the revisions to the Engineering Design Manual, and authorize its publication.
Background: The Oak Creek Engineering Design Manual is an organized collection or ordinance-driven requirements and technical interpretations and direction. Its purpose is to provide clear concise direction to developers and landowners as to what is expected during and post development. This direction will result in consistent/high quality developments. It is clear by hierarchy application that any ordinance change enacted by the Common Council takes priority over this manual. The creation of this manual and revision thereto was authorized by Common Council Resolution No. 9049-070595.
This edition of the manual has been under review and production for over a year. The CIP Committee unanimously recommends its adoption. In order to keep this document more current, the Engineering Department will be modifying chapters instead of the entire document.
Copies of the Design Manual revisions are on file for viewing at the Office of the City Clerk and Engineering Department.
Fiscal Impact: This document will be placed on the City’s web site, thus saving printing costs.
Respectfully submitted:
Wayne St. John, P.E.
City Engineer
