Recommendation:  That the Common Council concur with the recommendation of the Street Superintendent and approve the low bid from Western Culverts for corrugated metal and A-2000 pipe for the year 2004.

Background:  As recommended by the Street Superintendent, the Common Council at their meeting of 1/6/04 rejected bids for culvert pipe for the 2004 calendar year.  No bidder was able to supply the N12 pipe as requested.  The Council authorized the Street Department to re-bid.  This particular pipe is used infrequently and is purchased from a local Oak Creek vendor.  The Street Department published the required legal notice and sent out bids to culvert suppliers, receiving bids from two (2) vendors.  The results were as follows:

Fiscal Impact:  Funds have been provided for in the Street Department operating budget under account number 83435 Reimbursable Expenses in the amount of $5,000.00 and account number 83650 Storm Drainage Systems in the amount of $15,000.00.
