CONGRATULATIONS TO

MID-AMERICA STEEL DRUM COMPANY – OAK CREEK

SOUTHEASTERN CHAMBER UNITED IN BUSINESS

2003 BUSINESS OF THE YEAR

WHEREAS, the Southeastern Chamber United in Business (SECUB) conducts an annual search for the business most deserving of recognition because of their contributions to this community, its organizations, and its youth; and

WHEREAS, SECUB will be hosting a dinner on Friday, January 23, 2004, to honor the “2003 Business of the Year”; and

WHEREAS, Mid-America Steel Drum Company – Oak Creek has been chosen by SECUB to receive the “2003 Business of the Year” award; and

WHEREAS, Mid-America Steel Drum Company - Oak Creek, established in 1975, is the Midwest’s quality leader of reconditioned containers, whose primary focus is the successful reconditioning, recycling and re-use of 55-gallon steel drums for industrial applications; and

WHEREAS, Mid-America Steel Drum Company - Oak Creek has seen an aggregate growth in sales during the last ten years of over 250 percent; and

WHEREAS, Mid-America Steel Drum Company - Oak Creek, has annually sponsored or donated funds to many community organizations such as the Oak Creek Little League, Oak Creek High School Prom, National Night Out, MACC Fund, and most recently was the corporate sponsor of the annual community tree lighting for Oak Creek. 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Oak Creek hereby congratulate Mid-America Steel Drum Company - Oak Creek for being selected the “2003 Business of the Year”.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this proclamation be spread upon the minutes of this meeting and that the City Clerk be and she is hereby directed to transmit a suitable copy thereof to Mid-America Steel Drum Company - Oak Creek.
