Recommendation:  That the Common Council authorize the publication and write-off of the attached list of delinquent personal property tax as per Resolution No. 8037-072390.

Background:  The City Treasurer with the assistance of the City Clerk developed a policy on the handling of delinquent personal property taxes.  Attached is a list of delinquent personal property to be approved for publication in the City’s official newspaper.  Also, at this time, this same list indicates which amounts appear to have a low collection percentage, to be approved for removal from the City’s general account as per the 1989 auditor’s management letter. (but will still be pursued for collection)

Fiscal Impact:  Improve the accuracy of the City’s financial position and enhance budgeting procedures by the timely and efficient collection of monies due to the City.
