City of Oak Creek

Common Council Report

Meeting Date: September 16, 2003

Item No.:12

Recommendation:  That the Common Council approve the purchase and installation of 18 new Lumac light fixtures and poles for Miller Park at the cost of $22,752.

Background:  The new light fixtures and poles are the same that are being used in all new subdivisions.  Street light maintenance have changed some existing areas (Oak Park Drive and Sunset Drive) and reused the fixtures and light poles from these streets for parts in other locations throughout the City.  The existing light fixtures and poles (particularly the 18 ft. poles) can be salvaged and are needed for replacement parts in other street light locations.  The new light fixtures and poles would be a nice enhancement for the large amount of pedestrian traffic and picnickers that use Miller Park.

Fiscal Impact:  The funds needed for this project are available in the 2003 street lighting budget.
