FIRE FIGHTER LAURA D. LUTZEN

Whereas, Laura D. Lutzen became a member of the Oak Creek Fire Department on August 23, 1999; and

Whereas, Laura D. Lutzen is a valued member of the Oak Creek Fire Department, and has provided emergency medical service in a caring and professional manner to the residents of Oak Creek; and

Whereas, Laura D. Lutzen is a skilled fire fighter and is trained as a motor pump operator and dispatcher; and

Whereas, Laura D. Lutzen has been the lead person in the department’s public education program, and has provided safety education to thousands of citizens in Oak Creek; and

Whereas, Laura D. Lutzen has a special interest and concern to provide safety education to children and the elderly, who are at the greatest risk from the dangers of fire; and

Whereas, Laura D. Lutzen was commended for her fire prevention efforts by the Fire Chief; and

Whereas, Laura D. Lutzen was recognized for her efforts by being named the American Legion’s Fire Fighter of the Year for the State of Wisconsin; and

Whereas, Laura D. Lutzen was presented with that award on July 19, 2003 at the American Legion’s State Convention in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Oak Creek for and on behalf of the citizens of the City of Oak Creek, that sincere gratitude and appreciation be extended to Laura D. Lutzen for her service to the City of Oak Creek and the Fire Department.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be spread upon the minutes of this meeting and that the City Clerk is hereby directed to transmit a suitable copy thereof to Laura D. Lutzen.
