City of Oak Creek
Common Council Report
Meeting Date: August 19, 2003
Item No. 14:
Recommendation: That the Council allocate the City’s additional 2003 CDBG funds to the projects that are found to be eligible from those that have been or will be proposed.
Background: The City has been informed by Milwaukee County that our share of the 2003 Community Development Block Grant Funding is more than we had anticipated when the original 2003 proposals were submitted. Accordingly, an additional $10,360 is available for 2003 projects.
The City may reallocate these funds without a public hearing provided that individual project funding is not increased by more than 25% or $5000, whichever is higher.
The options, as I see them are:
|
Approved 2003 Projects |
Authorized Funding |
additional reallocation (Alternate 1) |
additional reallocation (Alternate 2) |
additional reallocation (Alternate 3) |

|
|
$57,800.00 |
$10,360.00 |
$10,360.00 |
$10,360.00 |
Options 1, 2 and 3 would not require an additional public hearing. Option 4, a new project, would require a public hearing. Keep in mind that any unused funding from the AC Spur Track project can be reallocated to other projects.
Fiscal Impact: The use of CDBG funds reduces the amount of funding the City has to provide through the annual budget to provide these same levels of service.
