RECOGNITION TO RODNEY SCHROETER

FOR HIS PROMPT ACTION DURING A FIRE ON MAY 28, 2003

AT THE CEDAR HILLS ESTATES CONDOMINIUMS

WHEREAS, the Oak Creek Fire Department is dedicated to the safety of life and property from the devastating effects of fire; and

WHEREAS, early warning signs of fire must be taken seriously and a quick, decisive response is often what makes the difference between life and death in a fire; and

WHEREAS, RODNEY SCHROETER, by his prompt action in calling 9-1-1 and immediately pounding on the doors of the residents in the Cedar Hills Estates Condominiums to alert them to a deadly fire which started in the early morning hours of May 28, 2003, and which sadly took the life of one person.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Oak Creek hereby applaud RODNEY SCHROETER for his efforts and citizenship for the quick action which prevented the additional loss of life and property.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this proclamation be spread upon the minutes of this meeting and the City Clerk be and she is hereby directed to transmit a suitable copy thereof to RODNEY SCHROETER.
