Background: At the 5/20/03 Council meeting, the consensus of the Council was to authorize designating the City-owned property at the corner of 6th and Rawson as a veterans’ memorial park. Mayor Bolender created an ad hoc committee, with a list of committee members to return at the 6/3/03 meeting.
Fiscal Impact: With the exception of costs associated with a potential addition to the fire station parking lot, no additional expense is expected to be incurred, since the memorial will be built only with donated funds. The lot is currently maintained by Parks, Recreation and Forestry, and that will continue once the memorial is completed.
