2003 tree planting would include new subdivision planting (with developer reimbursement) and replacement trees due to large tree removals and young tree loses.
The method used to determine priority planting was based on removal list and site factors, and on conclusion of construction activity in developer-reimbursed, new subdivisions. Proposed tree planting would include the following areas:
Replacement Plantings (90 trees)
Cedar Hills (6) Camelot Park/Chapel Hills (8)
City Hall/Municipal Block (2) Carollton (3)
Edgewood Estates/Golden Fields (5) Howell Avenue/Burdick (3)
Marquette Manor (14) Meadow Creek/Sommers Acres (5)
Oakfield Village (8) Oakwood Terrace (4)
Parkway Estates (4) Pioneer Estates (8)
Quail Run (1) Riverton Meadows (8)
Shepard Hills (2) Willow Heights (9)
New Plantings (217 trees)
Barton Oaks Addn. I (20) East Centennial Dr. (55)
Farmington Hills (4) Golden Fields Addn. IV (6)
Jordan Fields (26) Meadow Creek Estates III (40)
Oak Leaf Estates (22) Oakshire East (19)
Stone Creek (25)
To help ensure proper establishment of newly planted trees, a letter addressing tree care, resident and City responsibility, will be sent to residents adjacent to planting sites.
Fiscal Impact: Appropriate funding for Project No. 03005 has been allocated in the 2003 Urban Forestry CIP account. This year’s Forestry CIP funding would utilize $42,133 from 1999 and 2000 tree planting CIP accounts. Developer reimbursement for new trees in new subdivisions is estimated at $49,920.
